My favorite course at UIC so far has been Political Data Analysis because I really enjoyed learning about quantitative methods and gained hands-on experience with SPSS, a powerful tool for statistical analysis and data visualization.

The Microsoft Office Suite has become essential for staying organized, creating polished documents, analyzing data, and presenting ideas effectively in both academic and professional settings.

What is a present-day use of data or AI that interests you?

How machine learning algorithms like KNN and linear regression are used to analyze large datasets and make predictions. I was fascinated by how applicable they are across different fields of study after working with them.

I hope to see technology play a bigger role in addressing climate change by providing data-driven insights to help reduce carbon emissions and advance renewable energy solutions.

Why should students like you learn more about data and artificial intelligence?

As someone with a social science background, it was an incredible opportunity to challenge myself, develop in-demand skills that open doors to innovation and problem-solving across every industry, and set myself apart from others. Growth comes from continuous learning, so don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone.
